Operation and maintenance centre for Cityring
As part of Copenhagen's new Metro line, the Cityring, we are building an operation and maintenance centre. It will be used to maintain the trains on a continuous basis so that the Cityring can operate round the clock.
Operation and maintenance centre
On Vasbygade in south-west Copenhagen we are building a new operation and maintenance centre for Copenhagen's new Metro line, the Cityring. The 12,000 m2 centre is being built for the Italian firm Ansaldo STS, which is developing the Cityring transport system for the Metro operator, Metroselskabet.
We are in charge of the design, contract management and in-house production in the form of construction trade work. We are also handling all engineering disciplines including constructions, sewers, installations, environmental and soil engineering. All the constructions and installation are modelled in 3D Revit.
Workshop and cleaning building
The building contains facilities for the continuous maintenance of the trains in order to ensure round-the-clock operation of the Cityring. The construction comprises a 9,750 m2 main building containing a workshop for the Metro carriages, a common room and a control room, and a smaller cleaning building containing washing equipment.
Constructions and installations
The building has a pile-driven foundation and is being constructed using concrete elements clad with bronzed expanded metal. We are also undertaking external work including platforms, walking areas and access roads.
The installation part of the project is extremely comprehensive, since there is a lot of equipment and many cable ducts to take into account.
Award for keeping things tidy
We have received an award from Metroselskabet for our work ethic, wise use of space, and keeping things tidy in order to make the work safer and more efficient for our personnel.
