Anholt Offshore Wind Farm
MT Højgaard supplies and installs the offshore foundations for the wind farm situated between Djursland and Anholt in the Kattegat. The farm will begin delivery of electricity to the Danish electricity supply system at the end of 2012 at the latest. The farm will produce approx. 4% of Denmark’s total electricity consumption.
Grenaa Port will be humming with activity in the coming years. DONG Energy is using the port as base for for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, - both during construction and operation.
Anholt Offshore Wind Farm will become the biggest offshore wind farm in Denmark. The installation works will begin at the turn of the year 2011/2012 and before that the offshore foundations will be manufactured.
Our experience
MT Højgaard is to deliver and install the foundations. At the completion of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm MT Højgaard will have installed a total of approx. 560 offshore foundations – more than any other contractor in the world.
The project has a series of challenges, including the soil conditions and is well suited to our experience and expertise.
Annual electricity consumption of 400,000 Danish households
The overall effect of the 111 turbines will be 400 MW corresponding to an annual electricity consumption of 400,000 Danish households or approx. 4% of Denmark's total consumption. The wind farm will begin delivery of electricity to the Danish electricity supply system by the end of 2012 and must be fully established in 2013.
MT Højgaard supplies and installs the offshore foundations during 2011 and 2012.
