Anholt Offshore Wind Farm
MT Højgaard has supplied and installed the offshore foundations for the wind farm situated between Djursland and Anholt in the Kattegat. The farm will begin delivery of electricity to the Danish electricity supply system at the end of 2012 at the latest. The farm will produce approximately 4 percent of Denmark’s total electricity consumption.
111 turbines
Grenaa Port is humming with activity. DONG Energy is using the port as base for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm - both during construction and operation.
Anholt Offshore Wind Farm will become the biggest offshore wind farm in Denmark with a total of 111 turbines. The installation works began at the turn of the year 2011/2012 and before that the offshore foundations was manufactured.
630 offshore foundations
MT Højgaard has delivered and installed the foundations during 2011 and 2012. At the completion of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm we have supplied more than 630 offshore foundations – more than any other contractor in the world.
The project had a series of challenges, including the soil conditions and was well suited to our experience and expertise.
Annual electricity consumption of 400,000 Danish households
The overall effect of the 111 turbines will be 400 MW corresponding to an annual electricity consumption of 400,000 Danish households or approximately 4 percent of Denmark's total consumption. The wind farm will begin delivery of electricity to the Danish electricity supply system by the end of 2012 and must be fully established in 2013.
