MT Højgaard is carrying out the new cable stayed bridge in Hai Phong port city, which is the 3'rd largest city in Vietnam.
Improving the Vietnamese infrastructure
The bridge will have a span of 240 meters with one pylon carrying the main span of 120 meters and the nearest side span of 70 meters. The bridge will be crossing one of the numerous big channels in the area and will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of the infrastructure due to the intense growth in the country. Besides four road lanes there will also be moped lanes and pavements in each direction. In Vietnam many people ride on mopeds or motor scooters. These modes of transport are very effective.
If everybody chose to go by car the traffic would break down. The project will be completed by Mid-2012.
