At MT Højgaard Danmark we solve different types of tasks, but we are especially known for our large and complex building and infrastructure projects.

MT Højgaard Danmark's history

Our history dates back 100 years. In 1918, Sven Schultz and Knud Højgaard founded the construction company Højgaard & Schultz. Axel Monberg and Ejnar Thorsen founded the construction company, Monberg & Thorsen, the following year. On 2 May 2001 – 82 years later – MT Højgaard A/S was formed following a merger of the two listed companies, Monberg & Thorsen A/S and Højgaard & Schultz A/S. In 2021 MT Højgaard was divided into three companies: MT Højgaard Danmark, MT Højgaard International and MT Højgaard Projektudvikling. The three companies continue to work closely together.

MT Højgaard Danmark left its mark on Denmark’s history throughout the twentieth century. Our projects include the Øresund and Little Belt bridges, the Great Belt tunnel, Moesgaard Museum, Diamanten (The Royal Library) and a number of other well-known Danish building and construction projects.
