Hobro Land Registration Court was the first PPP project in Denmark to be handed over to the State
The Land Registration Court was built as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) whereby MT Højgaard, Bank DnB NORD and DEAS formed a private consortium that financed and constructed the building. Together, the parties will be responsible for running the building for 20 years.
Harmonious A-shaped building
Cubo Arkitekter A/S designed the exciting building. They were inspired by its setting close to open countryside and created a delightfully proportioned building, which expresses a harmonious balance.
The building’s design harmony is seen in – and extends to – its location between two apparently intersecting roads. This is manifested in a large A shape when the buildings are viewed from the air.
An opening in one of the longitudinal sides of the A provides access to the entrance in the middle of the building, where the long concrete beam over the opening is supported by a distinctive, flat pillar with the court’s logo on a red background.
Opening in 2009
When the then Minister of Justice, Brian Mikkelsen, attended the opening of the Land Registration Court in 2009, he praised the building and the PPP approach:
"The private partnership involved in this project has thought through long-term solutions. The result - as can be seen here in Hobro - is a building of a very high standard, one which provides a good working environment for all employees."
The 4,400m2 land registration court accommodates 150 employees.
