Extensive renovation of 600 apartments in Møllevangen
MT Højgaard has carried out the renovation which the buildings in Møllevangen really needed. Apart from new facades and bathrooms all the apartments have gotten new wastepipes, radiators, and a decentral ventilation system. In some block’s apartments on the first and second floor have been merged.
We have replaced attics and roof constructions, given 22 apartments a new tile roof, and converted five block’s to accessibility housing.
The renovation included a significant improvement of the outdoor space, which now invites to be used. The residents have gotten new playgrounds, storage for bikes and scooters and more parking, and 76 ground floor apartments have gotten their own garden. Moreover, we have turned the old heating station into a common house with two function rooms and kitchen.
Consideration for the neighbours
While the residents in Møllevangen were rehoused, the neighbour blocks were still occupied during the renovation. This affected the way we arranged the workers and the construction site. Careful coordination was essential to make the renovation as easy on the residents as possible.
