Joint ventures as a strong and integrated collaboration model

Combining strengths

We see significant potential in Joint Ventures and are open to entering into new agreements. With our proven setup, extensive experience, and strong capacity, we are well-positioned to make them a success. We view Joint Ventures as a strong and integrated collaboration model, where we as companies - through separate legal entities - can jointly manage large and complex projects. This allows us to share resources, risks, and responsibilities for project management, and to offer the right competencies tailored to the specific needs of each project. It also enables long-term partnerships and provides access to specialized expertise in new markets. At the same time, it creates a framework for more efficient decision-making processes and increases mutual trust.

Joint Ventures require a significant investment of time and resources, and many agreements need to be established, which can make the process complex. Disagreements or differing priorities can also challenge progress. That’s why we have solid experience in managing these challenges - for example, by establishing steering groups or boards to oversee and support the decision-making processes of the projects.

Traditional contractor collaborations and contract models offer a simple and flexible solution, ideal for shorter partnerships or projects with limited scope. This model maintains the independence of each party and requires fewer resources. However, especially in larger or more complex projects, the lack of a formal structure can lead to uncertainty around responsibilities and challenges in coordination. When a project demands high integration and dedication, a joint venture can provide the necessary strength and stability.

Our organization is founded on strong project management, professional expertise, and extensive experience with complex collaboration structures. This equips us to handle both traditional partnerships and joint ventures. Our internal competencies in team composition, process management, system structure, and strategic planning ensure that we can effectively navigate both joint ventures and more flexible collaboration models.

A good example

Joint Venture at the Nordhavn Tunnel

Since 2022, we have been part of a joint venture with BESIX on the Nordhavn Tunnel project, which has a total value of DKK 2.585 billion.

The tunnel is designed to provide more direct access to the urban development areas in both outer and inner Nordhavn. It will connect Østerbro with outer Nordhavn, improve access to the area's port activities, and divert heavy traffic away from the rest of the road network in Østerbro. The tunnel is scheduled to open in 2027.

In addition to BESIX, we are working closely with NIRAS, Bravida Danmark A/S, and Jacobs.
