Campus Svendborg Harbour

We are constructing a new campus on Svendborg’s waterfront

A new learning environment for up to 550 students

A brand-new campus building on Svendborg Harbour will provide the setting for a future-focused learning environment for students at UCL University College.

The approximately 5,800-square-metre building will feature five storeys and two large atriums. We are constructing the campus under a turnkey contract on the waterfront, where we previously delivered the SIMAC maritime academy, recipient of the Concrete Element Award 2023.

The campus has been designed to accommodate up to 550 students in the future. When it opens, approximately 300 students are expected to move into the new facilities.

Red reused bricks and 440 concrete piles

During construction, we are driving 440 concrete piles, each measuring 18 metres in length and weighing six tonnes, into the ground to create a stable foundation for the building. Once the foundation works are complete, the upper floors will be constructed using concrete floor slabs installed with the aid of a tower crane.

The exterior of the building will be clad in red reclaimed bricks, while a large glazed facade will open the building towards the waterfront.

Inside, the campus will contain study areas, social spaces and teaching facilities designed to support learning and collaboration. The building will also include simulation rooms, training facilities and practice environments that help prepare students for the realities of their future professions.
