Renovation of Solbakken in Køge
MT Højgaard Denmark has renovated 220 homes for Køge Housing Association. Flats in the housing association's Solbakken II estate had their windows replaced, ventilation installed, and external balconies added. Additionally, we replaced the roofs, raised the existing roof trusses, and re-insulated the gable walls.
The flats are spread across 11 three-storey residential blocks with a total area of 17,463 square metres. They were built between 1956 and 1964, and although their red brick façades and tiled roofs still look impressive today, they have benefited greatly from the refurbishment. As part of the project, we also converted 24 homes into accessible housing and constructed a community centre that strengthened the social environment in Solbakken II.
