Train workshop for DSB in Næstved

Train workshop for DSB in Næstved, MT Højgaard Danmark, Næstved

Transparent collaboration

DSB and MT Højgaard Danmark aim to work based on an open, early-stage and transparent collaboration. Throughout the project, DSB had full access to an overview of progress and finances. This approach ensures a positive working environment where decisions can be made quickly, and challenges can be addressed jointly with the client.

In-house production and massive quantities on site

In addition to project management, MT Højgaard Danmark used its own skilled workers to carry out earthworks, concrete works, carpentry and paint works. As mentioned in the video, we had to manage enormous quantities of materials throughout the project. Here are some of the materials used in the construction of the workshop:

  • 18,900 tonnes of crushed stone
  • 2,350 driven piles
  • 770 tonnes of reinforcement steel
  • 1,000 tonnes of structural steel
  • 6,900 cubic metres of concrete

The workshop will be used for the repair and maintenance of DSB’s newly acquired electric locomotives and trainsets as well as existing double-decker carriages.
