We are future-proofing 667 homes in Viby J for Aarhus Omegn

Comprehensive renovation of one of the largest residential areas in the Aarhus region

At Præstevangen in Viby J, we are carrying out a comprehensive renovation of 667 homes distributed across 24 residential blocks. The oldest buildings date back to 1957 and were last subject to major renovation works in 1994. A comprehensive masterplan will now modernise and future-proof the apartments, facades and basement areas. 

The renovation includes upgrades to the homes, façades, technical installations and communal areas, bringing the entire development up to modern standards and requirements. All residents are being temporarily rehoused as part of the project.

Light-filled building focused on safety, clarity and recognition

Sofielund Care Centre has been designed specifically for residents living with dementia, where safety, clarity and recognisable surroundings are key priorities. The building will feature bright and welcoming communal areas that encourage interaction between residents, relatives and staff, while also creating efficient and functional settings for daily care operations.

The facades will be clad in Thermowood and constructed without the use of harmful chemicals. Construction is scheduled to begin on 1 November, and the first residents are expected to move into Sofielund Care Centre in 2027.
